Air sensors measure pressure in the air bags, and deflection sensors measure flex for axles with mechanical suspensions. The scale converts the sensor measurements into accurate on-the-ground weights. When it is properly calibrated and used, LoadMaxx Plus is accurate within 1% for air ride suspensions and is within 2-3% for mechanical.

By multiplexing through the existing 7-way, both tractor and trailer weights are seen on the in-cab display without any driver interaction.
